John Cooper and Jim Hurley to Lead Norfolk CLE Seminar
John Cooper and Jim Hurley of Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers will be leading a Norfolk and Portsmouth Bar Association continuing legal education seminar on Tuesday, October 7.
The event entitled “Injury Law Insights and Issues” will run from 1 to 4 p.m. at Suite 400 of Dominion Tower in Norfolk.
Jim Hurley will be talking about lawyer marketing and its ethical implications. John Cooper will be providing his Top 10 Tips in Premises Liability Law written from his standpoint as a 25 year plaintiff’s attorney.
John Cooper has litigated a number of premises liability cases in recent years. His past cases include a flight attendant who was awarded $400,000 after a window treatment fell on her head at a Virginia Beach hotel and a man in his 70s who was awarded $125,000 after he tripped and was injured on landscaping outside a Chesapeake fast food restaurant when an employee directed him onto the landscaped area. All cases are different and unique and we cannot guarantee the same result in your case.
The event will be coordinated by Corrynn Peters of Phillips & Peters, PLC. It will also feature a talk by Barbara Williams of Williams Ford Law about lien assessment in personal injury cases. Barbara, from northern Virginia, is the immediate past president of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association.
Attendance at the event earns three CLE credits, including one ethics credit. For further details contact NPBA at 757.622.3152 or email npbamail@gmail.com.
