Norfolk Motorcycle Accident Lawyer Report : Hit and Run Driver Leaves Motorcyclist Dead on I-564 in Norfolk
A hit and run driver is being sought after an accident in which a car drove over motorcyclist, killing him in Norfolk, VA.
The accident occurred after James W. Keith, Jr., 50 fell off his Harley Davidson at about 2 a.m. on September 8, 2012, on Interstate 564 while exiting the interstate on the south bound Terminal Boulevard ramp, said Virginia state police.
Another motorcyclist stopped to help him. But a dark four-door car hit Mr. Keith and failed to stop. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Virginia state police spokeswoman Sgt. Michelle Anaya said the at fault vehicle was a 2005 to 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt.
As a Norfolk-based wrongful death lawyer I am appalled by the circumstances of this fatal crash and my thoughts are with Mr. Keith’s family. Not only did this driver fail to take evasive action to avoid the motorcyclist but he or she failed to stop at the accident scene.
In such cases hit and run drivers can face the full force of the criminal law not to mention a potential wrongful death lawsuit for the loss of a life.
