Norfolk Injury Lawyer Report : Teen Injured on a Scooter by Hit and Run Driver in Winchester, VA Receives $56,000
A teenage scooter rider from Winchester, VA who was struck by an SUV on a sidewalk while on his scooter, fracturing his pelvis, has received $56,000 in a settlement.
Virginia Lawyers Weekly reported the settlement in a case involving a driver who initially left the scene of the accident in Winchester.
According to the report the driver claimed he had left the scene because he believed he had struck an animal. He turned himself in to police after the accident. The driver was convicted of felony hit-and-run and reckless driving.
“The plaintiff had insurance of $50,000. Policy limit was demanded and received with the driver contributing an additional $6,000,” reported Virginia Lawyers Weekly.
As a Norfolk, VA accident injury lawyer, I see a number of cases in which pedestrians, bicyclists and scooter riders are hit on the highways and sidewalks of Hampton Roads. I’m pleased to say the teenager made a full recovery from his injury.
His attorney was Carroll “Beau” Correll Jr. from Winchester, VA. All cases are different and no result can be guaranteed, even if circumstances are similar.
