Police say speed and alcohol were factors in Virginia Beach, VA man’s fatal car crash Saturday morning
Virginia Beach Police have determined that speed and alcohol were factors in a fatal motor vehicle crash early Saturday. Reginald Maurice Butler, 34, drove past an officer that was operating stationary radar at approximately 1:30am with a speed or more then 100mph. The officer made an attempt to stop the driver but he did not pull over.
Butler continued to drive at speeds over 100mph and he lost control of his 2005 Ford Focus. He drove off the road, and flipped his vehicle into a resident’s yard. He was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Butler was not wearing a seat belt.
