Police Say Cyclist Was Injured by Hit-and-Run DUI Driver in Virginia Beach, VA
Two of the worst things I see as a Virginia Beach car accident attorney are driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.
Police in Virginia Beach have charged a 24-year-old man with both crimes after he hit bicyclist with his car then kept on driving.
I was concerned to read about this accident. Fortunately, it appears the cyclist will recover from his injuries. The bicyclist was at the intersection of Kings Point Road and South Rosemont Road in Virginia Beach when he was struck by an automobile shortly after midnight on May 16, 2013.

Virginia Beach police spokeswoman MPO Tonya Borman, said the cyclist was transported to a nearby hospital and treated for minor injuries.
“The driver of the vehicle fled the scene and was arrested by a Virginia State Trooper a short time later on I-264,’ reported WAVY.com.
Police later charged the 24-year-old with DUI and felony hit & run. He is being held at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond, WAVY reported.
Virginia Beach sees many accidents involving cars and cyclists every year. Inevitably, the bicyclists come off worse. Recently I reported on the tragic case of a cyclist who was left in a coma after he was knocked off his bicycle in Virginia Beach.
