Dorienne Boykin , a spokeswoman with the Chesapeake Police Department, said the child appeared to have “maneuvered in front of a vehicle that was traveling eastbound on Ohio Street.”
The car hit the motor scooter causing the rider to fall off.
“The child sustained a possible broken leg and minor abrasions. This accident is currently under investigation,” said Boykin.

Operating motor scooters on highways can cause a dangerous situation, particularly when the rider is an inexperienced child.
