Virginia Super Lawyers Recognizes Five Cooper Hurley Attorneys

It’s always an honor to be named in the annual list of Virginia Super Lawyers. Less than 5 percent of attorneys make the list in Virginia and under 2.5 percent of young lawyers are named as “Rising Stars.”  A record number of attorneys from Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers appear in the 2019 list.

Five attorneys were named as either Virginia Super Lawyers or Rising Stars for personal injury law in the 2018-2019 Super Lawyers list. Last year four Cooper Hurley lawyers were honored by Virginia Super Lawyers.

Founding partners, John Cooper and Jim Hurley are again named as Virginia Super Lawyers. Attorney Bill O’Mara, who joined the firm in 2014, and became a partner last in 2017, is again named as a Rising Star in the Super Lawyers Magazine along with John Baker. Attorney Griff O’Hanlon was included on the Rising Star list for the first time.

The prestigious designation is based on peer evaluations and other relevant factors. It places John Cooper and Jim Hurley among less than 5 percent of Virginia’s leading attorneys who were selected by Super Lawyers. Bill O’Mara, Griff O’Hanlon, and John Baker were chosen from among less than 2.5 percent of young attorneys. The designation is based on a thorough evaluation of the attorneys’ credentials by a blue ribbon panel of lawyers across Virginia. The attorneys recognized the candidates’ expertise and achievement in personal injury law.

John Cooper and Jim Hurley have more than 57 years’ combined experience helping people injured in car, truck, pedestrian, and motorcycle accidents in Virginia. John Cooper is also licensed to represent clients in North Carolina and West Virginia. Jim Hurley is licensed in Florida.
