Newport News Wrongful Death Lawyer Report : Suspected Hit and Run Driver Leaves Man Dead in Newport News

It’s believed a hit and run driver has left a pedestrian dead in Newport News, VA.
The accident occurred on Jefferson Avenue, a main route running down the Virginia Peninsula and a notorious location for pedestrian accidents.
I’m saddened to say as Newport News car accident injury attorneys we have reported on numerous pedestrian accidents on Jefferson Avenue.
The man’s body was found at about 5:30 a.m. on October 7, 2012. A Newport News police officer located it on the shoulder of the highway at Jefferson Avenue and Woodcreek Road, a block south of Fort Eustis Boulevard, the Daily Press reported.
In September 2012, I reported on how two people were injured by an elderly driver crossing Jefferson Avenue in Newport News. A man later died of his injuries. The other victim was a woman in a wheelchair.
In that case the driver stopped. I am always appalled to read about hit and run accidents. When they prove to be fatal, a driver who leaves the scene is piling on the heartache for the family of the victim. Such families often have strong grounds to bring a wrongful death lawsuit.
