A police officer and another person received hospital treatment after the officer’s patrol car was hit head-on by a red light runner in Newport News, police say.
Two people were taken to the hospital complaining about pain on the night of September 5, 2012 after the collision in the Denbigh area of Newport News, say police.

2 injured after head-on crash
Witnesses said both cars were totaled in this wreck. As an experienced Newport News auto injury accident attorney, I’m well aware of how deadly head-on accidents can be. I’m relieved nobody appears to have been seriously injured.
Police officers and state troopers are on the front lines of traffic enforcement and are often injured by careless driving. Recently I reported on how distracted driving may have led to a crash that injured a trooper in the Lynchburg area of Virginia (VA).
Red light running can be extremely dangerous, as illustrated by this crash in Newport News. It leaves the offender open to possible criminal charges and helps establish liability on an accident claim. Recently I wrote about red light intersection collisions on the Virginia Beach car and truck accident injury lawyers site.
