Motorcycle Passenger Judy Moubray is Killed in Orange County, VA Crash
I was saddened to read about the death of a passenger on a motorcycle in western Virginia earlier this month after a car turned into the path of the bike in Orange County.
Drivers who make turns without noticing a motorcycle are the most serious threats to riders on the roads of Virginia and elsewhere.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports drivers who fail to look out for motorcyclists are the number one cause of motorcycle accidents.NBC29 reported the death of a Gordonsville, VA woman after a motorcycle crash on Route 33 at Route 678.State police say an 18-year-old from Ruckersville turned her car off 678 into the path of a motorcycle driven by James Moubray of Gordonsville.
His wife – 51-year-old Judy Moubray – was riding as a passenger on the bike. She died at the scene. James Moubray was taken to the UVA Medical Center for the treatment of unknown injuries. The car driver was later charged with reckless driving.
Recently our Virginia Beach motorcycle injury lawyers reported on the death of another motorcycle passenger near Winchester, VA in similar circumstances. My thoughts are with the families of these passengers. If a motorcyclist or a passenger is killed by a driver making a turn, their families have grounds to bring a wrongful death lawsuit against a car driver.
