Last Chance to See VTLA Seminar About Insurance – in Virginia Beach
Next Wed. May 25 – 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. (open bar reception after)
John Cooper of Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers will be moderating an afternoon session of The Virginia Trial Lawyers Association’s May Torts seminars at the Virginia Beach, Hilton Garden Inn on May 25. This is the last round of this program that has toured the state to packed audiences.
The morning session highlights changes that are sweeping and important to all lawyers who are handling personal injury cases and relate to major statutory revisions that were passed by the Virginia General Assembly for new and reissued 2016 policies. “The New 2016 UIM Settlement Procedure and Maximizing UM/UIM Recoveries” is presented by Gerald A. Schwartz from Alexandria. Gerry Schwartz, the insurance law guru, does an amazing job on these fundamental changes to the way auto insurance injury cases are handled.
The afternoon program “An Injury Lawyer’s Guide to Effective Settlement Practices,” will include information about case evaluation, working with insurance claims adjusters, negotiating techniques and special settlement issues like punitive damages and disputed liability. There will be useful written materials, including a variety of settlement demand package examples. Some great panelists from Virginia Beach and across Virginia are presenting for this session including Carlton Bennett, Allen Beasley, Manny Holadia and Adam Lotkin. Richmond lawyers, Colleen Quinn and Mike Phelan, will speak and The Hon. Bradford Stillman is a guest panelist discussing mediation.
Please join John and scores of other lawyers to learn something helpful to your clients. You don’t have to be a VLTA member to take part.
The morning and afternoon sessions earn a total of 6 MCLE hours and lunch is provided. There will be an open bar after the seminar in Virginia Beach tradition sponsored by Medivisuals. We hope you can find the time to attend this informative and useful seminar in Virginia Beach next week.
