Indian River Road Crash Seriously Injures Motorist

On busy highways in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Chesapeake, multi-vehicle crashes occur frequently. We were saddened to read about an Indian River Road crash that caused serious injuries to a motorist.
The five-vehicle crash was reported in the 3100 block of Indian River Road in Virginia Beach just after 2 p.m. on Tuesday, reported WAVY.com.
One motorist was reported to be seriously injured, requiring the assistant of a crew from Virginia Beach Fire Department which extracted the victim.
Police reported the area of Indian River Road between North Landing Road and Sumter Drive was closed for a time on Tuesday as the wreck was investigated.
The wreck occurred on a more rural stretch of Indian River Road between Princess Anne Road and Pungo. The road is narrow in places and traffic traveling too fast for conditions may cross the center line.
The cause of the Indian River Road crash has not yet been disclosed. Police are investigating.
Indian River Road in Virginia Beach has seen a spate of serious wrecks in recent years.
Earlier in 2017, a tragic crash made headlines when a delivery truck driver hit a car with two Indian River High School students inside.
One of the students was killed in the wreck and the other suffered serious injuries. The delivery truck driver was charged with offenses including DUI.

The wrongful death suit reportedly accuses the store of negligence for hiring and retaining the trucker who is accused of driving intoxicated and entrusting him to drive the box truck.
The suit was filed on in early December in Circuit Court, seeks $10 million in compensatory damages and $20 million in punitive damages.
