Driving Restrictions are Imposed on Man Accused of Killing Driver Donald Troy Durham in Gloucester, VA DUI Crash
I reported recently about a tragic crash in Gloucester County, VA in which Donald Troy Durham died of his injuries after he was rammed behind by another vehicle on Route 17.
The crash left Durham’s daughter hospitalized with serious injuries.
In the wake of that crash Shane Hedrick from Ark was charged with involuntary manslaughter. Recently a judge imposed a curfew on Hendrick and ordered him not to drive a motor vehicle.
Police accused Hendrick of being under the influence of alcohol and said he had cocaine, opiates and marijuana in his system, at the time of the wreck on October 27, 2012, the Daily Press reported.
This was a particularly tragic crash and my thoughts are with Durham’s family and his daughter. As a Virginia wrongful death attorney, it seems clear to me that his family have a strong case to bring a wrongful death case, if the circumstances of the crash prove to be consistent with those in police and media reports.
Police across America are reporting a rise in so-called “poly driving” accidents in which drivers have taken a combination of alcohol and drugs. Poly-drug impaired drivers may have taken a cocktail of medically prescribed and illegal drugs such Spice as well as alcohol.
Poly-drug impaired drivers are a menace on the roads of Virginia and elsewhere.
If you have been hit by a drunk driver you may be entitled to additional damages. See this article by our Virginia DUI accident injury attorneys.
