Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers Names Griff O’Hanlon as a New Partner
Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers is delighted to announce the promotion of attorney Griffin O’Hanlon to the position of partner at the fast-growing Hampton Roads personal injury law firm. On Jan. 1, Griffin O’Hanlon became the fourth partner at the firm just over four years after he was hired as an attorney in the fall of 2015. He joins partners John Cooper, Jim Hurley, and Bill O’Mara.
About Griff O’Hanlon
O’Hanlon attended Great Bridge High School in Chesapeake for his freshman and sophomore years before his family relocated to Illinois. He returned to Virginia to study history at Virginia Tech. O’Hanlon obtained his J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law with a concentration in civil litigation.
After completing law school, he returned to his roots in Hampton Roads and now lives in Virginia Beach. He practiced criminal law at the Norfolk Public Defender’s Office and a local private firm before joining Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers. He has extensive in-court litigation experience.
At Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers, O’Hanlon represents clients who have suffered injuries in car, truck, motorcycle, pedestrian, and cycling accidents. He also helps people who suffer injuries in slip and fall incidents and families pursue wrongful death claims if they have lost a loved one in a fatal accident. He has secured millions of dollars for people who were injured in Virginia through the fault of another person.
O’Hanlon is married to Kelsey O’Hanlon, a graduate of Tallwood High School in Virginia Beach, who works as a speech therapist for the Virginia Beach Public Schools. When he is not working on his files, Griff can be found spending time with his kids on the beach, golfing, or cheering on Virginia Tech’s football team.
As well as helping clients to get fair compensation from insurance companies for their injuries, O’ Hanlon has played a prominent part in Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers’ extensive activities in the community. In December 2019, he visited Southside STEM Academy at Campostella in Norfolk to donate over 30 winter coats to students in need. He is a regular competitor in golf tournaments that raise funds for good causes in the Hampton Roads community. Additionally, he is an active member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the Norfolk and Portsmouth Bar Association, and the Virginia Beach Bar Association.
Jim Hurley, who set up Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers with John Cooper in 2011, paid tribute to O’Hanlon’s abilities. He said:
“Griff has done an outstanding job since he joined the firm in helping injured clients obtain fantastic results both in court as well as out of court. Griff has shown an ability to treat each and every client in a professional manner so that each client feels they have a great lawyer and a person that truly cares about their case. I look forward to working with Griff as a partner as Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers continues to grow in the coming years into becoming the preeminent injury law firm in our area,”
