Chesapeake Injury Lawyer Report : Woman is Killed by Construction Worker’s Pickup While Walking Her Dog
I was saddened to read about the death of a 69-year-old woman after she was hit by a pickup as she walked her dog in Chesapeake.
WAVY.com reported on the death of Nancy Gray, 69, of the 500 block of Dunning Lane. The news channel reported she was crossing the road in the area of Dunning Lane and Eagle Pointe Way in Chesapeake on November 28, 2012, when she was hit by the pickup driven by a construction worker.
“She was walking her dog and as she was crossing the street, the driver was making a turn into her lane of travel and struck her,” Chesapeake police spokeswoman Kelly O’Sullivan told WAVY.com.

“It is our understanding that the driver said he did not see her,” O’Sullivan told WAVY.
As an experienced Chesapeake wrongful death attorney, my thoughts are with the family of Nancy Gray.
Pedestrians appear to be very vulnerable in Chesapeake, as evidenced last year by the death of crossing guard Lovette Person outside Western Branch Intermediate School.
If a pedestrian is killed by the fault of another driver his or her family may have grounds to bring a wrongful death lawsuit. And a construction or other company can be liable for the acts of its employees, in certain circumstances.
Earlier this year, our Chesapeake injury lawyers won a $5 million settlement for a woman who was badly injured in a crash with a construction truck in Gloucester, VA.
