Tara Rooksby was born in Huntington Beach, California and relocated to Northern Virginia in 1993. She received a Bachelor of Music degree along with a minor in Business from James Madison University. Tara is a hard-core marching band/drum and bugle corps fan and made fantastic memories as a member of the Marching Royal Dukes drum line at JMU during her time there, including performing in two presidential inaugural parades, two Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parades, as well as international performances in Italy, France, Monaco, Germany, and Greece.
Tara received her paralegal degree from Tidewater Community College and has worked in personal injury law for 13 years. She enjoys using her expertise to support and guide her clients through what can be a scary and uncertain time. She loves the friendly, energetic, and supportive atmosphere at Cooper Hurley! Each morning she walks through the door, she knows it is going to be a productive day.
Tara lives in Chesapeake with her husband and two spunky daughters. In her spare time, she teaches private flute lessons and performs with the Virginia Wind Symphony.

Whenever I had inquiries, I found Tara R. and Stacey B. to be consistently accessible and responsive, providing thorough answers regarding our case. Working with them has been an exceptional experience, and I highly recommend Cooper Hurley if you need excellent legal representation!

I was very pleased with the services provided by Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers. Everyone was professional and responsive to my needs. I appreciated the “Get Well” letters and care gifts received in the mail. It was also great working with Tara Rooksby. She routinely checked in with me to inquire about my health and medical treatments, and to answer any questions or concerns I had about the process. She was helpful and very easy to work with. I highly recommend this firm.
I had such a pleasurable experience with this firm. Tara Rooksby was my paralegal. She was amazing! She was always easy to reach and so responsive every time. She kept me updated every step of the way, & I didn’t have to do much on my end at all. I was very pleased with my settlement & they even lowered their fees for me. I loved the care packages with goodies as well that they sent me while I waited to get my case settled. I would definitely recommend them to help you with your personal injury case.
Great service. A big shout out to Tara Rooksby for doing a great job with my case.
