Multi-vehicle Wreck in I-64 in Hampton Claims the Life of Teenager from Virginia Beach
I was saddened to read of the death of a teen passenger in Hampton Roads when she was involved in a six car wreck on Interstate 64 in Hampton over the weekend.
The crash late Saturday night on Interstate 64 in claimed the life of an 18-year-old Virginia Beach woman, reported WAVY.com.
Sgt. Michelle Anaya with the Virginia State Police said the six-vehicle crash happened around 11:45 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-64, just east of Armistead Avenue in Hampton.
The 18-year-old woman from Virginia Beach was the front passenger seat of one of the vehicles involved in the wreck and died at the scene. My thoughts are with the family of this young woman who had her whole life ahead of her.
While a Virginia State Police crash reconstruction team is investigating the accident, WAVY reported that no charges have yet been filed. Troopers are asking the public for help with piecing together the details of the crash. Anyone who may have witnessed what happened is urged to call State Police at 757-424-6800.
Friends have started a fundraiser to help the girl’s mother cover funeral costs. When a life is lost so suddenly and unexpectedly, large costs can be involved. When a passenger loses his or her life, someone else is usually to blame. It may be the driver of the car the passenger was in, or another driver as may be the case in a multi-vehicle crash.
A wrongful death lawsuit filed against the insurance company of the at-fault driver, can cover medical expenses, funeral expenses, loss of future earnings and other areas. Contact Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers at 757.455.0077 for a free consultation.
