Car Crashes on I-64 in Hampton, Killing Driver and Leaving Passenger in a Critical Condition
Far too many of the deaths and serious injuries I see on the highways of cities such as Hampton, Virginia Beach and Norfolk are to passengers who are killed or injured due to the fault of a driver.
I was saddened to read about an overnight crash in Hampton that killed a driver and left his passenger in a critical condition.
The Daily Press reported on how a 25-year-old man was killed just before 2 a.m. on February 9, 2014, on Interstate 64 in Hampton when he lost control of a 2002 Buick Regal just east of LaSalle Avenue, ran off the road and into a ditch. He was pronounced dead at the accident scene, said Virginia State Police.

Medics airlifted the front seat passenger to Sentara Norfolk General. The passenger, who was not identified, is listed in critical condition. A rear seat passenger, was taken to Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are yet to release any additional details on the circumstances surrounding the crash.
More single car accidents occur than any other kind of wreck in Virginia. Often passengers are the victims in these accidents. Our Hampton personal injury lawyers have represented many passengers who have suffered terrible injuries in recovering money from the driver’s insurance policy. My thoughts are with the families of those involved in this tragic crash.
