How Do You Prepare For a Trial?
Video Transcript
My approach to preparing for a trial is to over-prepare for the trial. I’m very mindful of the fact that my client will only get one crack at it. They only get one day in court and we’re up against an insurance company or people who have insurance companies providing them defenses who deal with thousands of cases a year. It’s not as much at stake for them as if we’re one of a thousand. And if things don’t go the way they want court, they move on to the next one. We don’t have that luxury. I have a client who gets one day in court, and I wanna make sure I do everything in my power to be as prepared as possible to tell their story the best way I can. In preparing for a trial or even conducting a trial, it’s beneficial to be the law firm in Norfolk, closest to the Norfolk Courthouse. I can run back and forth. I can get stuff from the office that I need for trial presentation purposes and coordination with the client– I think it gives us a real advantage.
