NORFOLK, VA — October 3, 2025: Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers dedicated its annual Firm Give Back Day to assembling and donating “Weekend Bags” for children experiencing food insecurity across Hampton Roads.
This year, the firm partnered with James Monroe Elementary (Norfolk), Cooke Elementary (Virginia Beach), Yates Elementary (Newport News), and Waterview Elementary (Portsmouth) to provide bags filled with food, a cozy blanket and a handwritten note of encouragement for each child.
“Our community is at the heart of everything we do, and we know that food insecurity affects too many children in Hampton Roads,” said Jim Hurley, Managing Partner of Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers. “These bags are a small way to provide nourishment, comfort, and a reminder that each of these kids is cared for and supported.”
The Cooper Hurley team came together to hand pack the weekend bags and to write personalized notes for each child. Messages included words of encouragement such as, “You are special and loved” and “This bag was prepared with kindness.”
Firm Give Back Day is an annual tradition for Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers. In 2024, the firm created care bags for children recently diagnosed with cancer. This year’s focus on food insecurity reflects the firm’s ongoing commitment to addressing urgent needs across Hampton Roads.
“Giving back is not just something we do once a year, it is part of who we are,” said Cassidy Lewis, Chief Marketing Officer at Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers. Weekend bag deliveries will continue throughout October to align with school schedules, ensuring students receive the support when they need it most.
