What Evidence is Used in Truck Accident Cases?

Video Transcript

At Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers, we look for every piece of evidence in a truck accident case. In truck accident cases, we want to make sure that we act quick to preserve all possible evidence that might be available. A big one is the blackbox data and any other electronic data that may be available on board not only the commercial tractor trailer, any other vehicle that was involved. A lot of newer model vehicles have electronic data as well. So, we want to make sure that we’re gathering all of the electronic data, doing any, you know, 3D scanning of the vehicles that we need, checking the maintenance records, the brakes, were they working? Really just kind of top to bottom on the truck is first priority.

And then we’re looking to see, are there any other sources of evidence that might be out there? Be it like Ring doorbell cameras, video footage from nearby like stores that might have like parking lot cameras, dash cams on the semi truck, your vehicle or a surrounding vehicle. Were there any witnesses?

And then also gathering from the police their entire investigative file. So, did they have dash cam, body cam? Who did they talk to? What pictures did they take?
