What Accidents Can Lead to Electrocution Injuries?

Video Transcript

So electricity is all around us, and sometimes you just don’t think about it. We’ve had cases involving downed power lines that didn’t disconnect for strange reasons– that can happen, and so you’re just on your, you know, street– a man lost his arm that way. We have a lot of cases involving industrial accidents, so somebody’s working with a grain bin, or some other thing, and it ends up causing electricity to shock and sometimes even kill them. People, whether they’re working or just around their house, have to be careful. We’ve had cases in hotels where they didn’t do a good job with the electrical outlets in a bathroom and a pilot got electrocuted and affected his eyes, so he couldn’t be a pilot anymore. Electricity is a really dangerous but important part of our lives– just need to be really careful, and it’s one thing to say “be really careful,” but it’s really the power company who needs to be careful, because they’re given the right to provide us power and charge us for it, but they don’t always do things safely like they should.
