How Much is My Rideshare Accident Case Worth?
Video Transcript
The value of a case is determined by a whole slew of factors– no one size fits all for any particular case. You have to evaluate the severity of the injuries, the extent of the medical bills, but sometimes in cases, one of the things that severely limits the value of a case is the amount of available insurance. It’s sad to say that there are cases I’ve handled that have involved a wrongful death or very serious permanent injuries to someone where there are minimum insurance limits that significantly, obviously affect the value of a claim.
One of the things that is to our clients’ benefit in rideshare accidents and injuries, are that generally if the driver has accepted a ride or has a passenger in for an accepted ride, there is a million dollars in coverage. So thankfully, if there is a serious orthopedic injury, brain injury, or something along those lines, there’s adequate coverage or hopefully adequate coverage to fully compensate our clients for those claims.
Now, with that said, as you increase the value of a case, the complexity increases as well. A lot of times those cases require lawsuits to be filed, significant investigations, coverage investigations– so you know as the value of a case increases generally the complexity does; the time that it takes to resolve that case. But at the end of the day, we’re here to advise our clients and to try to get to the goals that they identify for us. And we’re always willing to chat with our clients about what those goals are and how best we can achieve them following a rideshare accident. [jingle] No need to worry, call Cooper Hurley.
