Memorable Case Result – Griffin O’Hanlon

Yeah so a case that’s that I’m proud of and that I do think made a significant impact involved a family that was hit head-on by a drunk driver on Interstate 64 in Norfolk. There was minimum insurance coverage and there were serious injuries for everyone that was in the vehicle: mother and father and their young son. So we were never going to be able to recover for them an amount of money that was appropriate given the severity of their injuries, but what they wanted was their day in court. And they wanted an opportunity to tell their story and to be heard by seven jurors.

There wasn’t going to be additional money to recover for them by going and putting on a full jury trial, but that’s what they wanted to do, and I was happy to do that for them and got a tremendous verdict in their favor, and their story was heard, and they were heard, and what had happened to them was heard by seven jurors who then said, “that was wrong and you need to be made whole for it,” so it’s something I was really proud of. Again, it wasn’t going to result in a huge recovery for anybody, but it gave them a voice in what can sometimes feel like a voiceless process. [jingle] No need to worry, call Cooper Hurley.
