Meet John Cooper

My name is John Cooper and I am a personal injury lawyer. I’ve been doing it for 35 years here in my hometown of Norfolk, Virginia. Born and raised at Norfolk General Hospital just down the street, and also was raised a little bit in Virginia Beach, where my mom moved later on. Went to Norfolk Academy, which is a local private school. Went to First Colonial High School in Virginia Beach. Really proud to be from Norfolk, Virginia Beach. Just such a great place to live. And I’m happy to be able to serve family and friends and people that I’ve known for many years here, uh, doing the work that we do at Cooper Hurley. I always knew that I was going to be a lawyer. My dad was a lawyer, and then after getting divorced from my dad, my mom became a lawyer with three kids, commuting to William and Mary Law School. I remember going to law school with my mom at age five and how interesting that was. I really love academics too. So, you know, I was good in school. My father had gone to UVA law school, and so I always intended to go there, and then, proudly, my son actually went to UVA law school too. So we have three generations.
