Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers is excited to welcome William Kass to our team, formerly from Kass Law Firm in Portsmouth. William will be providing the same level of service our clients have come to expect from the Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers team, and we are thrilled to have him join our firm.

William Kass is Of Counsel at Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers and an experienced Virginia personal injury attorney who represents clients in automobile accidents, wrongful death, product liability, and premises liability cases. Recognized for his decades of legal experience and vigorous client advocacy, he has earned an AV Preeminent® rating from Martindale-Hubbell, has been named among Virginia’s Top 100 Trial Lawyers, and has been recognized by Virginia Super Lawyers for his work in personal injury law.

Attorney William E. Kass practices in a wide range of fields including personal injury, automobile accidents, wrongful death, products liability, and premises liability. In 1978 he graduated from the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond, where he received the American Jurisprudence Award in Administrative Law. In 1972 he graduated from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. He is admitted to the bars of the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Eastern District of Virginia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is also rated “AV” by Martindale-Hubbell Lawyer Referral Service – the highest rating awarded by the organization.

Mr. Kass is a member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, The American Association for Justice, the Norfolk & Portsmouth Bar Association and Portsmouth Bar Association. He was listed in “Coastal Virginia Magazine” in the “CoVaBiz Top Personal Injury Lawyers List” in 2020. He was selected as one of the “Top 100 Trial Lawyers in Virginia” by The National Trial Lawyers Association and has also been included in “Virginia Super Lawyers Magazine” for personal injury law. He was born in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, grew up throughout the Hampton Roads area and has practiced law in Portsmouth since he graduated from law school. He prides himself on his vigorous representation of all of the firm’s clients and enjoys representing families from generation to generation.
