Roger Schafer

Roger Schafer is an attorney at Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers who has spent more than 20 years focusing almost exclusively on personal injury law. He has extensive courtroom experience and is dedicated to helping injured clients navigate difficult situations and pursue the compensation they deserve. He earned a business degree from Pennsylvania State University. Inspired by his father’s career in law enforcement, he went on to earn a magna cum laude law degree from the University of Pittsburgh with the intention of practicing criminal law. After graduation, Roger accepted a position at a Pittsburgh law firm, where he practiced business law and defended injury claims.
Eventually, Roger persuaded his Pittsburgh-born wife, Marie, to relocate to Virginia Beach in search of better weather. They started their family in the area, and Roger practiced at several local firms, including serving as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney for the City of Virginia Beach, before establishing his own practice in 1989. For the past twenty years, Roger has focused almost exclusively on handling personal injury cases.
Roger loves the Tidewater area and is passionate about his work. After a longstanding referral relationship with Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers, he joined their team of Car Crash Experts in late 2024. “They are incredibly thorough and truly fight for their clients,” Roger says about the firm.
