Why You Should Collect Evidence at the Scene of a Trucking Crash
One of the main things that I do in my practice is to sue truck drivers and trucking companies when they cause harm on the highways of Virginia and beyond. If you get caught in a big rig accident you want to ensure that you immediately contact me, so as we can get investigators down there and start immediately collecting the necessary information.
Now the police that will be on the scene will be helpful as they will be collecting a lot of necessary information as well. However, the police officer that will end up charging the truck driver will wait months and months before they are willing to release that data to us. So one of the things we need to do is get our own photographs, measurements, and the like as soon as possible before the accident scene changes.
It’s important to do this because the way we reconstruct truck accidents is by looking at the markings on the road like skid marks, tire marks and gouges where there has been an impact where it has cut into the asphalt of the road. These are the things a trained accident reconstruction investigator can use to help us figure out exactly what happened.
We are ready, we have the resources to pay for the right investigation as quickly as possible. Call me if you or a loved one has been hurt in a truck accident.
