Scooter Rider is Killed in Accident Involving Car in Richmond, VA
Virginia has experienced a spate of fatal motorcycle accidents over the last few weeks.
In the latest incident a scooter and a car were in a deadly collision in Richmond. Tragically the rider of the scooter later died of his injuries at VCU Medical Center.
WRIC.com reported on how the Richmond Police Department was called out to this accident on Sunday morning at the intersection of Fairmount Avenue and North 23rd Street in Richmond, VA.
A woman was driving the car. It was not immediately clear who was to blame. My thoughts are with the family of the male scooter rider.
Police interviewed witnesses and took measurements of the crash scene in the course of the investigation. Fairmount Avenue was closed in both directions as the investigation continued. Recently I reported on how motorcycle passenger Julie Moubray, was killed in a crash in Orange County, VA.
The motorcycle she was riding on was struck by a car making a turn. In so many fatal motorcycle accidents, riders or passengers are involved in accidents caused by car drivers who are making turns and fail to see the motorcyclist. Recently I also reported on the death of a passenger on a motorcycle near Winchester, VA.
