Virginia State Police are seeking the driver of a white tractor trailer after the body of a man was found on Interstate 64 in New Kent County.
The body was found early in the morning of August 6, 2013 at mile marker 205 in New Kent County, the Daily Press reported.
State police officers were called to the Henpeck Road Overpass at mile marker 207 on I-64 at about 1:30 a.m. after a dead man was found in the road, said Sgt. Thomas J. Molnar, a spokesman for the Virginia State Police. The man had been struck by several passing vehicles, Molnar said.
State police are looking for the driver of a white tractor-trailer who left the scene of the accident. The truck has front driver’s side damage.
There are few details available on this crash but it appears this may have been a hit-and-run accident. I see many hit-and-run accidents on the Virginia Peninsula and in Hampton Roads. There is never any excuse for leaving an accident scene.
