Pedestrian James Gregory Camp is Knocked Down and Killed on a Crosswalk in Norfolk, VA
As an experienced Norfolk pedestrian accident attorney, I see many people who are on foot, injured and killed by cars every year in Hampton Roads.
I was saddened to read about the death of a wheelchair-bound man who was hit by a car on a crosswalk.
Norfolk police say the accident happened in the 5600 block of Tidewater Drive at 6:45 p.m. on January 30, 2013 when a vehicle hit a man on a crosswalk. He died of his injuries later at a local hospital. The dead man was identified as James Gregory Camp, 67, of Norfolk. My thoughts are with his family. He lived in Lakewood Plaza, an apartment building for seniors, WAVY.com reported.
Local residents interviewed by WAVY said some drivers often do not seem to care about the crosswalk, even when the lights were red.
If a family member is hit and killed on a crosswalk, you may have grounds to recover money by filing a wrongful death lawsuit. See our Norfolk accident injury lawyer’s guide to accidents involving pedestrians.
