Passenger Michael Joseph Liszeo is Killed in Virginia Beach in Head-on Collision
I see many crashes in Virginia Beach in which passengers are injured due to the poor judgment or the recklessness of a driver. I was sad to read about how a passenger was killed in Virginia Beach this week when the car he was in was involved in a head-on collision.
In this case the Chevrolet Malibu hit a large SUV, a Chevrolet Suburban. Police said Michael Joseph Liszeo, 32, of the 800 block of Princess Anne Road, a passenger in the Malibu, was pronounced dead at the scene.
My thoughts are with the family of Mr. Liszeo at this tragic time. It’s not yet clear why the driver of the Malibu crossed double yellow lines while heading east toward Princess Anne Road, on Pungo Ferry Road.
What is clear is the consequences of the action; a serious head-on collision.
Adam Bernstein of the Virginia Beach Police Department said both drivers are adult females. “They both received serious but not life-threatening injuries,” he said.
There were no passengers traveling in the Suburban. I see far too many head-on collisions in Norfolk and Virginia Beach, as a Virginia Beach car accident lawyer. I see too many passengers losing their lives. Driver error is the usual cause of head-on collisions.
The family of a passenger who has lost their life in a car crash may have grounds to file a wrongful death action against the insurance policy of the at-fault driver. A lawsuit is the last thing family members ever think about at the time of a death. The sad reality is a death can cause major financial hardship.
