Passenger, 18 From Portsmouth is Killed in I-264 Car Accident in Norfolk
Every year in Hampton Roads I see a large number of teenage passengers killed or injured in car crashes.
In the latest tragedy on the roads of Norfolk, one man has been left dead and another was transported to a local hospital after a car crash on I-264 east in Norfolk.
Virginia State Police said an 18-year-old from Virginia Beach lost control of the 1998 Lexus he was driving just west of Military Highway. The car left the road and hit a tree, an 18-year-old passenger from Portsmouth, reported WAVY.com
Virginia State Police investigators said the drivers injuries were not life-threatening. Police said alcohol was not a factor in the crash. It’s not clear what caused this crash.
It’s always tragic to read about the loss of a young life and my condolences go to the family of the young man who died. Often families of passengers who are killed in car crashes, have grounds to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the insurance coverage of the driver who was responsible for the death of their loved one.
