As an experienced Newport News DUI accident injury attorney, I see far too many cases in which alcohol contributes to crashes. When a driver leaves the scene it makes a crash even more upsetting for those he has hit. The man hit two vehicles on I-64 in York County, according to reports.
Although the first collision did not cause injuries a second vehicle was forced off the road, leaving the female driver from Newport News with a broken sternum, bruised lungs, four broken ribs and a torn rotator cuff.
Virginia State Police pursued this driver. According to the Daily Press his pickup reached speeds of 100 mph on the Colonial Parkway near Yorktown which has a speed limit of 45 mph.
Recently I reported on a crash in which a 58-year-old woman suffered serious injuries when she was hit by a truck being pursued by police in Newport News, VA.
