Reports of multiple injuries in a Dam Neck Road crash in Virginia Beach are nothing new. Over the last few months, Dam Neck Road has seen a spate of serious accidents.
On Friday night, police reported multiple injuries in a crash between an SUV and a sedan. Few details were available. However, WAVY.com reported one person was left unconscious in the wreck and others were hurt.
Virginia Beach dispatchers told the station one person was rendered unconscious following the crash near the intersection of Dam Neck and Elbow Road. The 911 call was received at 8:56 p.m.
Five people were traveling in the SUV and one person was in the sedan, according to police dispatchers.

The tally equaled the total motorcyclist death toll in the resort for 2017. A 17-year-old girl was charged with racing in a Subaru Crosstrek.
Three months earlier in April, Virginia Beach police officers were called to a fatal accident involving two vehicles on Dam Neck Road just before 6:30 p.m. on a Friday evening. The force of the impact sent both the vehicles off the roadway.
Police said the driver of a minivan hit the rear of a Honda Civic. The smaller vehicle was forced off the right side of the highway. The minivan left the highway to the left, hitting several trees in the median. One death was reported at the accident scene.
In some cases, drivers running a red light or failing to stop at a stop sign have caused a serious Dam Neck Road crash. In 2009, a woman and her daughter were killed by a red light runner at the intersection of Dam Neck Road and Corporate Landing Parkway.
