Man, 22 from York County Dies in Accident in Hampton, VA
Deaths occur with an alarming regularity on the highways of Hampton Roads cities such as Norfolk, Virginia Beach and Hampton, VA.
As experienced Norfolk-based accident injuries we have reported on crashes that appear to have been caused by drunk driving, such as the recent incident in Newport News caused by a wrong way driver that killed two students at Christopher Newport University.
But a split second mistake may also lead to tragedy on the roads, such as an attempted left turn that led to the death of a 22-year-old man from York County in Hampton, VA on Dec. 21, 2011.
A wrecked car after a side-on collision
The victim died in an early morning wreck at the intersection of Magruder Boulevard and Hampton Roads Center Parkway in Hampton, VA, the Daily Press reported.
Police said William Bradley Hicks died after his Acura Integra was hit by a Chevy Silverado attempting to make a left turn at the busy intersection. The driver of the Silverado was attempting to make a left turn onto Hampton Roads Center Parkway, police said.
It’s unclear if charges will be brought against the driver of the Silverado. But if a mistake caused the death of another driver there is a clear case for a wrongful death lawsuit.
Our thoughts are with the family of this young driver. Sadly there are far too many deaths on the roads of Hampton. In another recent accident, a wrong way driver on the I-64 killed a woman and left five injured in Hampton, VA.
