Isle of Wight Wreck Involving Truck Kills One, Injures Three

One person has died and others are reported to be injured in a four-vehicle crash involving a tractor trailer in the Isle of Wight.
I was saddened to read about another fatal crash in Hampton Roads this week and our thoughts are with the family of the deceased and those who are injured.
On Monday, three people were killed in separate accidents in Virginia Beach, including a five-month-old girl who died in a car that caught fire after it was hit by a pickup truck.
The Isle of Wight Sheriff’s Office reported a serious crash this morning on Route 32 at Route 17 that led to multiple injuries.
Images from the scene, supplied by the sheriff’s office, showed a tanker truck and a badly mangled car at a rural intersection.
Virginia State Police spokeswoman Sgt. Michelle Anaya later confirmed that the crash resulted in a fatality. Anaya says the crash happened at 8:15 in the morning.
Lt. Tommy Potter, a spokesman with the Isle of Wight Sheriff’s Office, told the media that three three people were taken to a local hospital following the accident. No further details were released on the conditions of those who were injured and the motorist who died has not been identified.
The sheriff’s department said multiple travel lanes were closed as a result of the crash. Crews have been alternating lanes of traffic to get motorists around the scene. As of 9.28 a.m., the intersection of Route 17 and Brewers Neck Blvd was still shut down.
When tractor trailers are involved in accidents, the consequences are often very serious, even in lower speed wrecks at intersections.
If you have been injured in an accident involving a truck, you may have been very badly hurt. Recently, we represented a client who suffered terrible injuries in a wreck with a construction truck in Gloucester County in Virginia. All cases are different and unique and no previous case is an indicator of a future result, but we were able to win $5 million for our client from Hampton.
Sadly, sometimes those who are hurt in truck accidents don’t survive. Our Virginia wrongful death team has helped the families of many people who lost their lives in trucking wrecks.
