Interstate 295 Lane Closures After Four-Car Accident
Tiredness is a cause of many accidents in Virginia. It may have caused a four car accident in Chesterfield County, according to police.
Recently along Interstate 295, the driver of a 2005 BMW swerved across the median and into the oncoming lane of traffic. The car struck a Ford Expedition, a van, and finally a tractor-trailer truck. The tractor-trailer jackknifed horizontally across all of the lanes. This multi-car accident closed all of the southbound lanes of I-295 at milepost 15 in Chesterfield County, Virginia.
Police later charged the driver of the BMW with reckless driving, no operators license, and possession of marijuana. The driver was taken to VCU Medical Center in Richmond with non-life-threatening injuries. Police investigations have also found that fatigue may have been a factor in the cause of the crash. Miraculously, there were no life-threatening injuries.
