Injured Are Treated at Sentara Obici Hospital After Crash on Route 58 in Suffolk, VA
Route 58 in Suffolk witnesses many serious accidents. In the latest accident to make headlines on the busy highway, two vehicles were involved in a wreck with injuries on the morning of December 16, 2013, leading to a closure of the road for more than an hour.
The crash was reported at 11:15 a.m. in the eastbound lanes near close to Chappell Drive. Several people were reported to have been transported to Sentara Obici Hospital. Their injuries were reported to be non life threatening.
“Both eastbound lanes were closed until wreckers cleared the vehicles from the roadway. The road opened just before 12:30 p.m,” reported NewsChannel 13. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, police stated.
I see numerous accidents on Route 58, some of them deadly. Earlier this year a TME truck overturned near Emporia, killing the driver.
In October, Suffolk police reported a fatal accident on Route 58 (Holland Road). They said a Honda SUV was “speeding and weaving in and out of traffic” before it struck the back of the tractor trailer. A 28-year-old driver of the SUV was killed.
