Five Children are Injured After Virginia Beach School Bus Hits a Car
Five children were taken to a Virginia Beach hospital after a school bus crash on December 5, 2012 and it appears as if the bus driver was to blame.
The Virginian-Pilot reported that at about 3:50 p.m., police units responded to calls of a school bus crash in the 1600 block of Salem Road, close to the 2100 block of Lynnhaven Parkway.
More than 20 Salem Middle School students were on board the bus. The bus appears to have hit a disabled car shortly after turning onto Salem Road from Lynnhaven Parkway,
“Four students from the bus were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. A 4-year-old from the car with minor injuries also was taken to the hospital as a precaution,” reported the Virginian-Pilot.
Bus driver issued summons after crash
The 48-year-old driver was charged with following too closely, police said.
