One person has died in the crash. My thoughts as a Suffolk car accident attorney are with the family of the deceased driver.
State police later issued a statement identifying the deceased driver as a man from Virginia Beach.
“The exact location of the accident was Route 58, east of Valley Pro Drive in Southampton County. A 2005. International truck driven by Roscoe F. Hatten III, was traveling east bound when it came upon another vehicle and attempted to make a lane change. Mr. Hatten lost control of the truck, ran off the road, and overturned. The cab of the truck was crushed when the vehicle overturned, killing Mr. Hatten on impact. The truck was owned by TME Enterprises. Mr. Hatten was wearing his safety belt and alcohol was not a factor in the accident,” said Sgt. Anaya in a news release.
TME carries out road maintenance in Virginia. TME was recently criticized due to the large amounts of potholes on the highways of Hampton Roads.
