Drowsiness May Have Caused Double Fatal Accident in Arlington, VA
I was saddened to read about the death of two passengers in a single car crash in Virginia.
Daily Times reported the death of two woman from Maryland in a car accident shortly after 6 a.m. on November 23, 2012, about 10 miles outside of Arlington, Virginia.
The report said a car veered off the westbound lanes of Interstate 66, according to the accident report by Virginia State Police. The driver was injured and another passenger, his sister, also died.
Shyrel Scott-Waller, 53 of Chester, MD, the wife of the driver and his sister Juanita Ann Waller, 54, of Lanham, MD., were pronounced at the scene after their car they were travelling in struck a tree. The 53-year-old driver sustained minor injuries. He was taken to Fairfax Inova Hospital.
My thoughts as an experienced Virginia car accident injury lawyer are with the families of the deceased.
The accident is being investigated by Virginia State Police’s Fairfax Division Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene, and officers are continuing the investigation. State police say fatigue appeared to be a factor in the crash, and charges are pending.
When a driver commits a tragic mistake like this, there may be grounds for the families of those who died to bring a wrongful death lawsuit.
