Cooper Hurley Supports Story Slam, Backing ForKids
Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers has a long track record of giving back to the community. We are happy to be a sponsor of the Story Slam on Jan. 28 at Ohef Sholom Temple.
The event raises money for ForKids, a Norfolk-based non-profit that helps homeless kids in the Hampton Roads community. Cooper Hurley Marketing Director David Macaulay and Client Services Director Nya McLean presented ForKids with a check for $1,000 last week.
Rachel Newnam, annual fund and special projects manager at ForKids, said: “This is huge. We truly all that Cooper Hurley does for ForKids in helping us break the cycle of homelessness and poverty through the area.
The Jan. 28 event is the sixth annual Story Slam to be held in Norfolk, raising money for ForKids.
Last year, Cooper Hurley supported ForKids in our Facebook ‘likes’ campaign. For every new ‘like’ of our Facebook page, we donated $1. We presented a check of $500 last fall.
Cooper Hurley’s latest Facebook campaign is supporting Blankets for the Homeless, a Virginia Beach-based non-profit.
We have also supported Sugar Plum Bakery in Virginia Beach which provides employment and training to people with disabilities.
At the end of 2016, Cooper Hurley supported Project Pink, a fashion show and silent auction at Norfolk Collegiate which raises money for Susan G. Komen, a nationwide breast cancer research foundation.
Next month, we will be supporting Mardi Gras 2017, an evening of celebration at The Westin Town Center in Virginia Beach to benefit Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia.
In March, we will be supporting the Like Fund’s Cornhole for the Cure competition that raises money for breast cancer.
At Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers, we represent many people who are hurt in car, truck or motorcycle accidents in the Hampton Roads community and further afield. We also help people who have been hurt at a building through no fault of their own or family members of those who lost their lives due to the fault of another.
Many of our clients have long-term health care needs. We work with medical providers and a wide range of organizations. We are happy to give back to the community our attorneys grew up and went to school in. Contact Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers here or call us at (757) 455-0077.
